Privacy Policy — Prayer First
Effective date: 20 August 2026 Owner: Florent Mpase (sole trader), United Kingdom Contact: ronnympaseministries@gmail.com
This Privacy Policy explains how Prayer First (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Prayer First app. By using the app, you agree to this policy.
Who we are Prayer First is a Christian focus app that helps you put God first by locking distracting apps until you pray, using Apple’s Screen Time / Family Controls. It also offers guided prayer, AI-assisted prayer and Bible content, Bible reading, live prayer rooms, and the ability to pray for and with others. The app is operated by Florent Mpase (sole trader), based in the United Kingdom.
Your photos — how we handle them We treat your photos with care, and we want to be completely clear about them:
Photos of people you pray for — including reveal photos, prayer tokens/charms, your Prayer Circle, and the faces in your Journey — are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to any server, never shared, and never visible to any other user. They stay on your phone.
Your own profile photo is the one exception. If you are signed in and set a profile photo through Edit Profile, a copy is uploaded to our secure private storage (Supabase) so it can appear as your avatar. This avatar is shown to other members in live prayer rooms you choose to join. It is stored privately and is not made publicly available. If you do not set a profile photo, nothing is uploaded.
When you delete your account, both your server-side data and the photos stored locally on your device are removed.
Account information When you create an account (by email and password, or Sign in with Apple), we store what’s needed to run it: your email, chosen display name, and a user identifier, through our backend provider, Supabase. Session tokens are stored securely on your device.
Prayer and app activity Data related to your use of the app — such as prayer completion, streaks, prayer goals, lock settings, saved verses, notes, and your Journey — is stored on your device to make the app work for you. Your prayer history, streaks, and Bible activity are private to you and are never shown to other users.
Prayers you send to others (directed prayers) If you send a prayer to a friend inside the app, the prayer text is stored on our backend so it can be delivered to that person and appear in their prayer history. It is readable only by you and that recipient. Prayers sent to people who do not have the app (shared out via your phone’s share sheet) are not stored on our servers.
Names of people you pray for These are stored on your device. When you use AI to generate an intercessory prayer for someone, that person’s first name is included in the request to our AI provider so the prayer can be personalised (see “AI-generated content” below).
Onboarding answers During setup we ask questions (such as your name, denomination, age range, prayer goals, and how you heard about us) to personalise your experience. These are stored on your device. A limited subset (name, denomination, age range, commitment level, and prayer goal) is shared with Superwall to tailor which subscription offer you see.
Live audio (prayer rooms and live prayer) When you speak in a live prayer room or live session, your audio is transmitted in real time through our audio provider, Agora, so other participants can hear you. We do not record this audio.
AI-generated content Some prayer and Bible content is generated using a third-party AI service (Anthropic), accessed through our secure backend. Depending on the feature, the request may include your first name, denomination, a random device identifier, the first name of a person you are praying for, your typed Bible questions, and your own notes. This is used only to produce the content you asked for. It is not used to advertise to you, and no profile is built about you.
Analytics (anonymous) We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data — such as which screens are viewed and which features are used — through PostHog (EU-hosted). This data is tied only to a random device identifier, not to your name or account, and never includes the content of your prayers, messages, or notes. Session replay and automatic capture are switched off.
Purchases and subscriptions Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use Superwall to present subscription options and manage subscription status. We never receive or store your payment card details — Apple handles all payment processing.
Push notifications If you enable notifications, we store an Apple push token on your profile so we can send you prayer notifications (for example, when a friend prays for you, or when a live prayer starts).
Video content Prayer videos are delivered through Bunny (CDN). When you stream a video, Bunny may process your IP address to deliver it, as with any content network.
Bible text Bible passages are retrieved from bible-api.com (public-domain KJV text). The request reveals which chapter you are reading.
What we do NOT do We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for third-party advertising. We do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not show your photos of people you pray for, your prayer history, your streaks, or your Bible activity to anyone else.
How we use your information We use your information to: provide and operate the app’s features (locking, prayer, rooms, Bible, videos); maintain your account, streaks, goals, and settings; personalise AI-generated prayer and Bible content; enable live audio prayer and praying for other users; process subscriptions and manage access to paid features; understand usage and improve the app (via anonymous analytics); and keep the app safe, secure, and compliant, including acting on reports of objectionable content.
Third-party services We use trusted providers to run the app. Each processes data only as needed to provide their service:
Apple — App Store purchases, Sign in with Apple, Screen Time / Family Controls, push delivery (APNs). Supabase — accounts, database, private file storage, and secure backend functions. Anthropic — AI generation of prayer and Bible content (accessed only through our backend, never directly from your device). Agora — real-time audio for live prayer rooms and live prayer. Superwall — subscription/paywall presentation and management. PostHog — anonymous, aggregated product analytics (EU-hosted). Bunny — hosting and delivery of prayer videos. bible-api.com — public-domain Bible text. Resend — sending us safety/report emails from within the app.
These providers have their own privacy practices. We only share what is necessary for them to provide their service.
What other users can and cannot see In live prayer rooms, other members can see your display name, profile photo, and favourite verse, your speaking/muted status and raised hand, and can hear your voice if you speak. When you send a prayer to a friend in the app, they see your display name and the prayer you sent. Your friends see your display name. No other user can ever see your photos of people you pray for, your prayer history (beyond prayers exchanged directly with them), your streaks, your Bible activity, or your onboarding answers.
Live rooms, user content, and safety Prayer First includes live prayer rooms where users interact. We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable, abusive, or harmful content and behaviour. Users can report and block others, and mute participants. We aim to review and act on reports within 24 hours, which may include removing content and restricting or removing users. See our Terms of Use for full details.
Data retention and deletion We keep your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the app. You can delete your account at any time from within the app (Settings). Deleting your account removes your server-side data and the photos and data stored locally on your device. Reports and safety-related records may be retained as needed to keep the community safe and meet our legal obligations.
Your rights and choices You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and you can delete your account and its data directly in the app. To make any other request, contact us at ronnympaseministries@gmail.com. Depending on your location (for example, under UK GDPR), you may have additional rights regarding your personal data.
Children’s privacy Prayer First is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it. Parents/guardians are responsible for supervising minors’ use of the app.
Security We take reasonable measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the updated policy with a new effective date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
